DCL Ironstone Grocers Dairy Slab

A fine example of an advertising DCL (Distillers Company Limited) heavy ironstone slab. This company began in 1877 and were based in Edinburgh, Scotland. They originally provided yeast for the brewing and whisky industry but branched out into pharmaceuticals and many other fields. This slab was a multi use item for the grocers shop ( butter, margarine etc)but primarily used as advertising the company.Length 14.5 inches, width 9 inches. Good condition with no restoration or damage. C1900/10.
