John Gosnell Prattware Pottery Pot Lid Advertising Brush
A rare and fascinating piece of prattware advertising. John Gosnell is well known for its pottery pot lids but rarely is a hairbrush seen. The roundel is highly coloured and is thought to be made by the Pratt factory as several different examples are shown in the Pot lids book by Keith Mortimer. Gosnell sold the brush company to GB Kent in 1885 so this would date the brush to this period. Minor hairline repair. The brush has also lost some bristles. Length 9.5 inches. C1885 onwards.
